The castle’s history stretches back over 2000 years, and wandering its moonlit courtyards, you’ll get a sense of the numerous cultures that have left their mark on it. From Romans to Visigoths to Moors, it’s like an open history book.

The best bit? It’s not as packed with tourists as during the day, so you might even get a bit of serenity thrown in with your history lesson.

2) Explore Bairro Alto
