A travel website with a special emphasis on traveling with a chronic illness
Welcome to Snap Happy Spoonie!
A little about me…
I’m a Christmas movie and Harry Potter obsessed, travel & adventure junkie, and a chronic illness warrior (aka a Spoonie!).
After moving to the UAE from my home in Ireland back in 2016, I completely and utterly caught the travel bug.
Fast forward 8 years, and I’ve been to over 30 countries, tried countless different dishes, and developed a true passion for adventure.
Unfortunately, I picked up a few chronic illnesses over the years – Hashimotos, Crohns Disease and POTS to name a few – but being the determined (ok, some call it stubborn!) Capricorn I am, I refused to let them hold me back.
That’s how Snap Happy Spoonie was born – and now it’s an award winning travel blog!
WHAT CAN YOU FIND HERE?
Not only do I share incredibly detailed destination guides, such as how to spend one week in Dubai, or a fun-filled itinerary for Sri Lanka, I also share many tips and tricks for travelling with a chronic illness.
It’s no fun when you get a flare up while travelling. But that doesn’t mean you have to put your travel plans on hold. With the right knowledge and taking each day as they come, you’ll be able to keep enjoying your holiday.
Having lived abroad for over 8 years, I also share tips on how to move to another country and the advantages and disadvantages of living abroad.
