I’ve done various adventurous things over the past few years, and riding one of the world’s longest ziplines is up there as one of my favourites.
Not only is it one of the world’s longest ziplines, it is THE longest urban zipline in the world.

The day of the zipline, I had a few little nervous butterflies in my stomach! I knew that we had to go up to the 45th floor of a building before soaring off. I live on the 33rd floor of my building so I knew how high up that was and how little everything seems below! This would be higher…
We arrived at the designated counter in Dubai Marina Mall 15 minutes before our start time. This is where they check your height, weight, ask you a few questions and you fill out the form signing away your life (haha ok not exactly).
We put our belongings in lockers and were then taken in a shuttle bus to the starting point.

Note: Nobody else can ride in the shuttle bus, only those who are ziplining
The starting point is one of the Amwaj Towers in Jumeirah Beach Residence. We got the elevator to the 42nd floor, before climbing a further three stories to the roof, where we were met with a stunning view of Dubai Marina and the sun setting over the Dubai Eye.
We then had to wait our turn (eek!). Our phones were put in a little pouch which straps around your waist and we had a short little interview and some pictures taken.

And then came the part I was dreading. I couldn’t wait for the actual zipline, that’s the exciting part! But the bit I was most nervous about was hanging over the edge of the top of a building just waiting…
It felt like forever (it was only about 10 seconds). I was harnessed before my friend so had to wait for her to be secured before they counted to three and we were off!
I could hear my friend singing ‘I’m flying without wings’ as we took off. I was just cheering, waving at the tiny people below, loving every second of it. Soaring through high rise buildings, high above the Marina, was an adrenaline rush like no other.
The ride lasted around 35 seconds and we landed at the Marina Mall, exhilarated.
